Our Heritage
Trueline was born out of a love for the outdoors, a willingness to think differently and a relentless pursuit of quality using Australian made materials. More than 53 years later with over 75,000 outdoor living projects completed these same values still hold true and although ownership of the company has changed it still remains in the same founding family.

Wayne Hammond founded Trueline in 1970. From its early beginnings, the Brisbane-founded business created a culture of innovation spearheading many new industry developments as it constantly pushed conventional boundaries in its quest to bring inspiration to the way people live outdoors. The early years were marked by an ever-changing concept in outdoor living as the company set out to transform the design of patios by combining architectural engineering with handcrafted excellence. A search for new material forms led Trueline to insulated panel construction bringing a new order of comfort and outdoor liveability at the highest possible standard of quality propelling Trueline into a position of its own.

It started with a pioneering idea and an inspired vision. The idea – create personally styled, aesthetically refined, precision crafted outdoor spaces using premium quality Australian made materials bringing a new order of luxurious comfort to how people live outdoors. The vision – establish an industry leading company focused on developing extraordinary living environments by applying architectural concepts to the design and engineering of outdoor structures.

The first to integrate insulated panel construction into the design of outdoor living spaces, the first to place an absolute premium on quality, the first to design the fly over roof, the first to create an economical construction system for architecturally themed outdoor structures in large scale multiunit developments.

Our approach is to bring architectural thinking and technique to every situation even when there are complexities of site profile or home design. Since Trueline’s founding in 1970 we have successfully delivered over 75,000 residential projects and over $35 million in commercial structures progressively evolving from a Queensland centred operation into a modern outdoor environments company designing and building patio, pergola and garaging projects for residential homes and large scale multiunit developments throughout Queensland and Victoria.

1970

TRUELINE IS BORN

Wayne Hammond’s vision becomes reality and the company soon becomes the leading patio and home renovation company in Queensland.

1985

INNOVATION DRIVE

Trueline embarks on a series of new product innovations leading to the first-ever insulated patio roof and changing outdoor living design forever.

1993

ALL WEATHER PATIO RELEASED

Trueline draws on its engineering and construction expertise to answer the call for a sealed patio enclosure giving full rain protection with a seamless inside out ceiling height.

2000

FIRST EVER FLY OVER ROOF

Experience and engineering combine to push conventional design boundaries and the first ever flyover roof rises to popular acclaim.

2010

TRUELINE REIMAGINED

Shane Hammond assumes ownership and begins transitioning the company into a new modern era combining the company’s heritage of architectural excellence with leading-edge technology and an unwavering commitment to exceptional customer care and satisfaction.

2012

MULTIPLEX DIVISION CREATED

Trueline expands into the property development market engineering an all in one solution for the design and construction of outdoor structures in large scale multi-residential developments nationwide.

2017

ANOTHER FIRST MAKES AN ENTRANCE

Outdoor living innovation rises to the fore once again with the introduction of Pallas a fashion-forward change in outdoor space design taking outdoor lifestyles into another sphere.

2018

CELEBRATING OUR LONG HISTORY OF EXCELLENCE

Trueline debuts the Heritage Carport range, celebrating our long history of design & engineering excellence as a Queensland business. Fittingly, the Heritage Carport range was designed to reflect the elegance of the iconic Queenslander’s architectural splendour and simplicity of the fresh coastal Hamptons style.
